When choosing the material of the storage rack casters, PU (polyurethane) and rubber each have their own advantages and disadvantages, which need to be determined according to the usage scenario and requirements.
1. Characteristics of PU casters
1) Advantage:
A. Strong wear resistance: PU material has high hardness and is suitable for high-frequency use or heavy-duty scenarios (such as warehouses and workshops). Its lifespan is usually longer than rubber.
B. Good load-bearing capacity: suitable for carrying heavy storage racks (such as industrial shelves).
C. Chemical/Oil Resistance: Not easily corroded by oil or solvents, suitable for environments such as laboratories and factories.
D. Better noise reduction effect: Although not as quiet as rubber, it is quieter than hard materials such as nylon.
2) Disadvantages:
A. Poor elasticity: The shock absorption effect may be insufficient on rough surfaces such as cement floors.
B. Low temperature hardening: Flexibility may decrease in cold environments.
2. Characteristics of rubber casters
1) Advantage:
A. Shock absorption and anti slip: The rubber is soft and suitable for smooth surfaces such as tiles and wooden floors, effectively buffering vibrations and protecting the ground.
B. Excellent noise reduction effect: suitable for offices, homes, and other places that require quietness.
C. Wide temperature adaptability: maintains elasticity even at low temperatures.
2) Disadvantages:
A. Weak wear resistance: Long term use on rough surfaces can cause wear and tear.
B. Easy to age: Long term exposure to grease and ultraviolet radiation may cause cracking.
Based on actual needs, PU is usually more practical in industrial scenarios and rubber is more suitable for home environments.
